The giant 24-hour music channel MTV Base has just unveiled the nominations for the 2015 MTV Africa Music Awards. As usual Nigerian superstars dominate the list.

Facts have emerged on what president Muhammadu Buhari, told members of the House of Representatives when he met with them on Wednesday, July 1.

 
Some of the lawmakers loyal to the All Progressives Congress had asked the president to wade into the crisis rocking the National Assembly and the ruling party. It was gathered that during the meeting, on Wednesday night, they presented an 11-point statement, in which they urged the president to save the integrity of the party by ensuring that the Speaker, Yakubu Dogara, and his supporters, obey the directive of the party in respect of the election of principal officers of the House.

At a star-studded reception at Harem, Johannesburg, South Africa attended by MAMA awards 2015 nominees, Seyi Shay, Diamond Platnumz, Black Motion and a host of other artistes, a total of 70 nominees were revealed across 13 different categories. 

After tabling their requests before the president, sources revealed to Premium Times that Buhari pledged to stand by the party and its decisions.
“What the president is doing is to hear from both sides. You know he met the Dogara group earlier. He wants to know arguments of the two sides, so as to make an informed decision at the NEC meeting tomorrow. But he promised yesterday to stand by the party,” the source said.

Although he is yet to make his decision public, it is not unlikely that the president may discreetly seek the removal of the Speaker and the Senate President if the party prevails over him in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile, the deputy Senate president, Ike Ekweremadu, has asked members of the APC to focus more on governance rather than dwell on the internal crisis of the National Assembly.
